With this work, I seek to uncover the modern connection and disconnection people have to their surrounding landscape.

This work explores the invisibility of rural jobs within the forest-products industry, the resilience of nature, and the recent downturn within the forest-products industry through the use of the 2x4, artist designed wall paper, and the various connotations of the colors blue and white.

Much of our relationship with nature is now mediated through windows - windows in our homes, at work, in our cars. I use modern materials and a turn of the century shape to explore how our relationship with nature shifts and reshapes over time.

Using everyday objects as signifiers for jobs, home, and nature, this work considers the interdependence between people and nature revealing the direct connection between community health, land health, and capitalism.
